Instructor: Rev. Dr. T. Kenjitsu Nakagaki
Rev. Dr. T. Kenjitsu Nakagaki, is a New York-based Buddhist priest, ordained in the 750-year-old Jodoshinshu tradition of Japanese Buddhism. He is Vice President of The Interfaith Center of New York, Past- President and current member of the Buddhist Council of New York, Clergy-on-Call for Columbia University, Community Clergy Liaison for the NYC Police Dept., and Religious Advisor to the Japanese-American Lions Club. He is also a noted Japanese calligraphy artist, whose work has been featured in fashion designer Josie Natori’s video for her Fall 2011 collection, and in collaborative performances with the Sachiyo Ito Dance Company (2012) and Bella Gaia (2013).
The Class Contents:
Each Session is 2 hrs. which consists of talk, meditation and Shakyo. All sessions will be in English.
1) Introduction to Shakyo Meditation and Buddhist practice.
2) Practice of Shakyo Meditation and Buddhist teachings.
3) Application of Shakyo Meditation and Cultivating Peace in Life.
