Event Description

poetic assembly #1: Decline & Fall; or A Guide to How the End Begins for Those too Big to Fail

Poetic assembly is a new musical theater form created to investigate an issue beyond the confines of an Issue Play.  Harnessing the full measure of the theatrical medium, it’s the HAPPY marriage of a musical, a dance piece, and a play(s).  It’s a variety trunk show with a substantial narrative spine.

With music + text by Caroline Prugh and directed by Simón Adinia Hanukai, this first iteration explores issues of empire, both in terms of building and in decline.

Cast includes:  Ito Aghayere*, Andrew Belcher, Kimberly Bernazky, Jonathan Camuzeaux, Donovan Christie, William Cook*, Ava Eisenson*, Matt Hurley*, Shanna Jones, Maria Portman Kelly*, Kathleen Marsh*, Jensen Olaya, Vincent Torres*
