Event Description

FROM TRASH TO TREASURE.

With the philosophy of “repair, reuse, and recycle,”Jewelry designer and activist Suzette Gabriel-Schoebitz uses pieces that have been discarded by her clients and that she finds in flea markets, second-hand stores, and trading posts to create truly unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Her collection is on view and available for purchase Sept. 6 through 21. Proceeds go to benefit Plastic-Free Nam Ou, which aims to set up garbage collection, recycling, and a disposal system in Muong Ngoi, an idyllic village in Laos which has been overrun by trash and waste from the tourist industry.

Please join us Sept. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. in our TriBeCa gallery for a reception and special performance by renowned dance troupe, CocoonDance. Free and open to the public.
