Event Description

Syrian singer-songwriter, Gaida, along with world class musicians, ‘oudist, Zafer Tawil, pianist George Dulin, bassist Jennifer Vincent and percussionist Tony Divido – coming from Venezuela specifically for this concert – will perform entrancing and innovative interpretations of Syrian folk songs, and original compositions and free-style improvisations over Arab and Latin grooves. Various styles in Gaida’s music flow together organically, tied together by her "depth of soul and evocative and expressive voice," which transcends genres and drives directly into the listener's heart.

“In the dark times

Will there also be singing?

Yes, there will also be singing.

About the dark times.”

― Bertolt Brecht

Gaida and her band will present the first concert of their new series, "There Will Be Singing," about hopes, about the souls and hearts that dream of the light, about their resilience and bravery, their beautiful eyes, voices, and love stories, about their longings and regrets, about their mother's hands that they kiss every morning, about their rivers and apricot trees, there will be singing about their Eden of Jasmine – their Syria”
