Sunday, September 19, 2010
2 – 4:30PM
Japanese classical dance group, IchiFuji-kai, presents the student performance on 9/19. Osarai-kai or student performance is a kind of recital that students of the school show what they learned recently. Presented in suodori style (in simple/formal kimono), the show lasts about 1 hour and you may watch the different dances of students who learned with Soke Fujima-ryu. Seating is limited. Please reserve your seat by sending an e-mail to ichifujikai@gmail.com (pls include your name, number of guests, and contact phone number of the day). (Light snack and Japanese tea will be served in the brief gathering with the audience after the show.) Japanese classical dance is for people of all ages, both genders and any nationality. Currently an 8 years old kid to 80+ years old seniors, Japanese and non-Japanese, are learning with IchiFuji-kai. You may learn not only styles and forms but also the art of the traditional dance including kimono costuming, manners, visual elements and Japanese custom. We teach both in Japanese and English.
