Tuesday, June 17, 2014
12 – 2PM

The Japanese clothing retailer UNIQLO has grown tremendously since opening its first store in 1984, with 853 stores in Japan and 446 abroad as of August 2013. With UNIQLO’s ambitions to become the largest fast fashion retailer in the world by 2020, North America has become a key market for further development. Although there are differences in Japanese and American retail culture, UNIQLO aims to open 200 stores in the United States by 2020. In this lecture, Larry Meyer, CEO of UNIQLO USA, discusses how he aims to combine the best of both cultures in order to accomplish UNIQLO’s goals for expansion.
