Koran Contemporary Dance Waves in NY 2013

PSY’s Gangnam Style swept globally, K-Pop (Korean-Pop) is sweeping globally and now you have a chance to see K-Dance (Korean contemporary dance) in NY!

Sinae Arts Management presents K - Dance Waves in NY 2013 with two renowned contemporary dance companies from Korea: WonKim/Group Collaboration OR and Heung Nam Kim Dance Project, plus a congratulatory performance by WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company at MMAC: Manhattan Movements Arts Center (248 W 60th St., NYC) on July 20th & 21st, 2013.

This two-day celebration of contemporary dance will present works of eminent dance makers hailing from Korea. “Being involved 2013” by WonKim/Group Collaboration OR (Korea) is a collaboration of Dance improvisation & Live Music with Jerome P Begin – Julliard Faculty Music Advisor, Music director of Bill T Jones and Chris Lancaster – Music director of Bill T Jones. “Empty Shell” by Heung Nam Kim Dance Project (Korea) will be performed with live piano by Ki Young Kim, and is a piece about anguish with modern, everyday life.

The guest performance “Here NOW So Long: Architectural Design of the Human Heart” by WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company (New York) is a collaboration with composer Marco Cappelli, multimedia Artists David Tirosh & Kate Freer, dramaturgy by James Leverett.
