The Yard 2010 Bessie Schönberg Choreographers’ Residency Concert New works by Gregory Dolbashian, Ximena Garnica (LEIMAY), Marta Renzi and Yara Travieso Friday, Sept 24, 8:00 Saturday, Sept 25, 8:00 Sunday, Sept 26, 6:00 The Yard’s Bessie Schönberg Residency showcases the work of some of the most exciting emerging and established artists, selected from an international pool of applicants. “Becoming” captures the process of transformation as a catalysis for life itself. With a mesmerizing atmosphere the piece contrast wild physicality with meditative stillness. Ximena Garnica collaborates with New York based video artist Shige Moriya to transform the Yard Theater into a whole new space where light becomes music, music becomes texture and bodies become a vortex for life power to manifest . The showing at the YARD is a 17 minute glimpse into the full-length 50 minutes piece that will premiere at the Festival de Danza en La Ciudad this coming November in Bogota Colombia.
