Drumming Workshop @ 4 PM
$15/Free for members with tickets to 8 PM concert (Drums provided)
A participatory class, beginning with a basic history of folk music, with hands-on use of the three, main traditional Colombian drums: Llamador, Alegre & Tambora. Open to anyone with an interest in learning the drums - no prior experience necessary! Space is limited to 20 participants. Call to reserve your drum.

This immigrant band truly puts on an explosive party, embodying an active quest for identity through sound. With hints of Colombian Folklore, Psychedelic-rock, jazz & Caribbean grooves, M.A.K.U. SoundSystem’s lyrics talk about love, hardships, culture, and the immigrant experience. Members of M.A.K.U. will share their experiences as Latino immigrants in NYC, the quest to understand their culture, and the realities that have shaped their music. Spanish language translation provided.
