The performan ce (approximately 55' in duration) will incorporate movement direction by choreographer Kristin Hatleberg, sound art by Adam Basanta and dance by Ms. Hatleberg and Janet Aisawa. \nFascinated by different i ngredients of simple boundaries, Ms. Martynes, Ms. Hatleberg and the J apanese-American Ms. Aisawa have collaborated on various projects cent ered on the symmetrical axis of movement and sound. Ixos is a cyclica l production, inspired loosely by bird songs (Ixos is a type of song b ird) wherein the four artists envelope the improv-generated compositio ns of Giacinto Scelsi with their own sound and movement improvisati on, including intensification of simple timbres and rhythmic exchanges . \nMUSIC SHOW & TELL is a curated live music series that provides a chamber-music like setting for the performance and discussion of mostl y acoustic music, primarily of international origin, including world m usic, early music, classical and jazz, \"new\" music, and multi-discip linary collaborations with video or dance artists. \nKrista Martynes  is a multi-media clarinetist who brings new life to standard and new repertoire. She broadens her performances with inventive improvisation including audio and video sampling that maintains an acoustic charact er. She works as Rehearsal Director for Fly by Night Dance Th eater, an aerial trapeze dance company. She dances with Ollom Movement Art and has collaborated with Mary-Clare McKenna and Kristin Hatleber g. Janet is deeply influenced by Skinner Releasing Technique.\nKristi n Hatleberg is a dance artist and educator based out of Brooklyn. Her work focuses on cross-genre collaborations, and has been shown throug hout the United States and in the Netherlands. As a performer she has danced for various international choreographers and performance artist s including Eva Dean/Eva Dean Dance; Willi Dorner/Cie. Particular interests include semiotic and ecological ap proaches to electroacoustic composition, music cognition and perceptio n, mixed music, binaural phonography, sound installations and found so und environments.
