CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) presents MUSIC & TELL: Takako Hatanaka & Robins Egg Blue, an evening of original Japanese pop and soul. Hatanaka is a keyboard-based singer-songwriter who crafts thoughtful, melodic ballads in Japanese. Robin’s Egg Blue is a four-piece alternative music band influenced by Japanese traditional soul.

SHOW & TELL is a live music series providing a chamber-music like setting for the performance and discussion of mostly acoustic music, primarily of international origin. The series is also open to jazz, classical, and "new" music, and multi-dispclinary collaborations.
Takako Hatanaka is a pianist, singer, composer/arranger, and piano/voice teacher. She has been performing as a jazz singer and recently has been more active as a solo performer (vocal, piano) of rather pop-style original compsitions in Tokyo, Osaka and NY. She has an MA in Jazz Performance (voice) from Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College. This summer she performed with J-Pop/Soul Top 40 recording artist Asuca Hayashi and jazz pianist/vocalist Efacho Okeke in NYC. Photo copyright © 2011 by Mayumi Kasuga.
Formed by Atsumi Ishibashi (singer) and Masashi Ishiura (guitarist) in the US, 2009, Robin's Egg Blue mainly plays songs composed and arranged by Masashi with lyrics written by Atsumi. They regularly perform in New York City and Brooklyn. Recently, Akihiro Yamamoto (bassist) and Naoki Morisaki (Drumer) joined Robin’s Egg Blue and they recorded their first EP ''Songbird" with a producer, Dougie Bowne, who is a famous drummer and composer known as performed with Iggy Popp, Cassandra Wilson, Ryuichi Sakamoto and so on. Robin’s Egg Blue is very active to creative their original sound internationally.
