New York Theatre Ballet’s Children’s Dance on a Shoestring

New York Theatre Ballet will host Children’s Dance on a Shoestring, with original dances from the Ballet School, at the NYTB studio at 131 E. 10th Street, NYC on October 27, 2017 at 7pm and October 28, 2017 at 4pm. A reception will follow the performance on 10/28. Call 212-679-0401 for tickets.

Children’s Dance on a Shoestring is a performance performed, managed, and produced completely by children from Ballet School New York. This performance by talented young dancers includes both original student choreography and classical variations. This is the seventh production of the series of student produced shows, which give students experience in the areas of directing and design. It allows each student a new level of responsibility and an outlet to share their passion in a creative and organized way. The committee that runs the production consists of students ages 13 to 16; however, the show itself includes students from every level and highlights their talents and the technique that they have acquired as a student with Ballet School New York. Children’s Dance on a Shoestring is an opportunity that benefits the creative team, performers, and the audience. The show provides a learning experience that develops the artistic and administrative abilities needed to produce and put on a professional performance.
