Event Description

Join Pan Asian Repertory Theatre as it kicks off its 36th Season, featuring world premiere productions of Three Trees (March-April 2012) by Alvin Eng and Dojoji: The Man Inside the Bell (May-June 2012) by Ernest Abuba, with choreography by and starring master dancer Sachiyo Ito.

At this 9-course Chinese banquet, complete with wine and beer, our guests will watch the New York City premiere of The Wives of Henry Yuk, a documentary short film by Bea Soong.

We will also recognize the following people for their contributions to their communities:

  • Deborah Chan, Esq. and Gloria Chin, members of the Mei Hua Society, which aims to explore and share knowledge about China and Chinese culture and to support other organizations in the New York metropolitan area that promote Asian culture or offer social services to Asians
  • Julie Azuma, founder of Different Roads to Learning that sells educational products for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities and Chair of the Board of Asian Women in Business and Foundation for the Advancement of Autistic Persons, who also sits on the Board of the Japanese American Association and is on the organizing committee of JAJA
  • Tamio Spiegel, a business consultant who has written for NY Nichibei, AsianWeek, and Nikkei Heritage and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Gohan Society, which fosters an understanding of Japan’s culinary heritage in the U.S.

All proceeds will benefit Pan Asian Repertory Theatre's 36th Season.
