Event Description

RELAX! Alice

by Ming Peiffer

Alice's frequent fainting spells and bizarre stories never worried her family or friends until a recent suicide attempt lands the troubled twenty year-old in the hands of an overbearing and eccentric psychologist, Dr. Blythe. Wary of her therapist's prescriptions, Alice refuses medication until an unexpected trip down the rabbit hole brings her own idea of sanity into question. In this strange underground world, Alice must choose between taking doctors orders and returning to reality, or succumbing to the characters in her mind and remaining forever in Wonderland.

Relax! Alice is a loose adaptation of the classic Lewis Carroll stories; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass that pushes the boundaries of visual and spatial expectations and explores our perception of reality in a world where true human connection seems to have lost its spark. Relax! dives into the mind of a misunderstood young girl trying to find her place in today's over medicated and stereotype-driven world.
