About Second Saturday Reading Series

The Second Saturdays Reading Series is a monthly literary gathering in New York City for the reading of Singaporean and American literatures. The series hosts an average gathering of 20 - 30 people in a private home. The two-hour event begins with a potluck, followed by an open reading and the featured author/artiste. For their fourth season (October 2016 - June 2017), they have a terrific line-up, including readings by Naomi Novik, Chinelo Okparanta, Jason Irwin, Sohrab Homi Fracis, George Kalogeris, and a recital-talk by Singaporean singer and conductor Phillip Cheah. If you’d like to be added to the mailing list or to host an event, please contact Jee at jkoh@singaporeunbound.org. Follow Singapore Unbond’s Second Saturday Reading Series on Facebook.

About the Event

The next Second Saturdays gathering and holiday party will be held on Saturday, December 10, 7 pm, in a private home on the Upper West Side Side, NY, NY. The Second Saturday Series will be featuring New York Times bestselling author Naomi Novik. She will be reading a seasonal Rumpelstiltskin-inspired story, “Spinning Silver.”

RSVP Jee at jkoh@singaporeunbound.org for directions, what dish you’d like to bring for the potluck and whether you’d like to read a short creative work at the open mic.

Those at the Second Saturdays Series are also looking for hosts in NYC for their upcoming events. Please get in touch if you’d like to open your home to us.
