This workshop at CAVE will feature a rare opportunity of training intensively with Kumoraru Mukai , who has been performing, choreographing and teaching with DAIRAKUDAKAN for over 18 years. Mukai will lead participants towards an intensive exploration of Butoh concepts as developed by Dairakudakan.

This session leads students to:

  • Find a neutral body.
  • Explore the condition of the weak, hanging body.
  • Focus on the consciousness of being moved, not moving.
  • Use of a primitive image in the body as a receptor.
  • Explore various forms into your body and convey those forms.
