Event Description

WEEKLY Butoh Classes
with Vangeline in New York

Sundays 7pm-9pm

$15 suggested donation

Butoh is an avant-garde performance art form which originated in Japan in the 1950’s. Vangeline’s Butoh classes incorporate Japanese Butoh, Bio-energetics, core energetics, elements of Noguchi gymnastics, and guided imagery to offer a high-energy workshop adapted to each group’s level of physical fitness.

Vangeline has taught and choreographed in New York for the past nine years. This unique training is an invaluable tool for dancers, actors, adult beginners, encouraging participants to open up and expand physically and energetically. This workshop creates a gentle and supportive environment to start an individual and collective process of investigation through creative movement.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.
