WHITE WAVE presents 5th Annual WAVE RISING SERIES

WHITE WAVE announces its 5th Annual WAVE RISING SERIES, featuring 19 dance companies showcased in our renowned three week festival. The SERIES offers emerging choreographers the opportunity to present their work on a large scale – often for the first time – alongside a group of invited companies from among the most visionary names in contemporary dance. The New York Times wrote in 2008, “(the WAVE RISING SERIES presents) a broad variety of work. Tickets are cheap and dancing plentiful, it’s a good mix.”

This year, two stellar companies from Korea, Gwang Ju Modern Dance Company and Kim Yong Chul/SEOP Dance Company and Botega Dance Company of Enzo Celli from Italy are joining dance artists from around the United States on our program. Six or more different companies present new choreography and established repertoire three times each festival week. An exclusive opening night gala benefit and performance on Wednesdays features presentations by that week’s participating festival companies.

Brown, York Dance Works, and WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company.
