Yangtze Repertory Theatre of America presents a staged reading of “Kurukulla.” Written by Zhao Binghao, a Columbia University MFA Candidate mentored by David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly, Chinglish). Directed by Wayne Chang. This is the second play of the series with the goal to present emerging Asian/Asian American playwright’s material to the public.
“Kurukulla” is a play that took place at a funeral service; a flirtatious conversation between a man and a woman, whom they shared an intimate past. Through the course of flashbacks, they both came to the realization that they still cannot deal with the problem of love.
The reading will be performed by diverse talents consist of Wei-Yi Lin, Justin Morck, Rachel Kaplove, Shuhei Kinoshita. DeBorah Green and dL Sams.
Performance: Saturday, February 9th, 2013
Door opens at 2:00pm, Staged Reading promptly starts at: 2:30pm
Followed by a Q&A session with the playwright.
