IW Group, an Asian American-owned and operated advertising, marketing and public relations agency with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, is planning to produce a 12-month calendar in collaboration with of one of its clients. The conceptual focus will be on original art images themed around ethnically celebrated holidays that appeal to Asian Americans and especially young adults.
IW Group is seeking a diverse pool of Asian American artists from around the country whose artwork will be featured in this special calendar. Original artwork can be in a variety of forms and formats. This includes, but is not limited to: paintings, sketches, graphic design, sculpture, collage, illustrations, and paper crafts.
Compensation
Artwork that is selected for the project (7 pieces of art) will be compensated at $2,000 (Decision will be rendered by IW Group and the client.)
The art will be used to promote the calendar and featured in 80,000 calendars nationwide. The selected artists will be credited alongside their artwork in the calendar and may also be featured on the client’s website as well as a social media platform. The selected artists may also be featured at a press event(s) in late 2012 to early 2013.
The selected artists will receive copies of the final calendar for their portfolios.
Deadline
Artist must submit the sketches/initial concept stage for evaluation by May 24, 2012 and if selected will proceed with full work. The selection process will begin immediately as artwork is received. Thereafter, artist should be flexible to work with IW Group to meet client requests/ needs if changes are to be made. Final deadline for finished work will be June 18, 2012.
Submission Requirements
The resolution requirement is minimum 300 dpi (at 9” x 9” trim). Please allow .5 inch bleed and keep all important elements of the art within an 8” x 8” live area Images must be submitted on a CD or DVD using one of the following formats: JPG, Tiff or PSD in CMYK or RGB. Sculptures or other multi-dimensional artwork will need to be photographed as an initial submission.
Due to the volume of artwork that is received for this project, IW Group will not be able to return any submitted artwork. IW Group recommends that throughout the process, no original artwork be sent – only an electronic image of the work. If your art is selected for the calendar, IW Group will need original artwork and will pay for the piece to be shipped to the IW Group LA office.

Selected artists agree that the artwork is an original piece of work. The artists also agree to allow IW Group to make adjustments, if needed, in order for their work to be properly featured in the client calendar. All rights will be exclusively owned by the client and possibly be auctioned off to provide funds for one of the client’s charities. The art cannot be sold to any other entity or used for any other purpose.
All stated decisions regarding this Call for Art are at the sole discretion of IW Group.
