Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Artist Commissioning Program (ACP) to support Queens artists to create new, original works to be interpreted for theatre, dance and music. This innovative program allows Queens community members to become panelists who will select four artists to each receive a $10,000 commission.
Artists may include playwrights, choreographers, and composers. If selected, you will receive a $10,000 commission to create a theater script, dance, or musical score. We will actively support artists who present a fresh perspective by creating work that tells untold stories, defies the cultural mainstream, or privileges underrepresented identities.
Art producers may include Queens community members, art appreciators, and artists passionate about supporting art making. As an art producer, you will be a part of the creative process from start to finish, from selecting the program’s artists to providing support through their world premieres.
