Call for Proposals: Albany International Airport's Art and Culture Program

Proposals for 2017 Due June 9

The Albany International Airport’s Art & Culture Program hosts temporary sculpture and site-specific projects in locations throughout the terminal as part of its mission to support and showcase the artists and cultural organizations that inhabit New York’s Capital Region.

Submission Instructions and Eligibility
There is no charge for submission, and artists in all stages of their career may apply. Priority is given to applicants who live and/or work within a 100 mile radius of Albany, NY. Applicants must attend a tour of available sites prior to submitting a proposal. Proposals for site-specific installations must include the following:

  • Letter of introduction
  • Current résumé or CV with contact information
  • At least three examples of past projects that support the applicant’s ability to produce successful large-scale installations. This documentation should include photographs and relevant descriptive information along with dates and location of exhibitions.
  • Written description of proposed installation for AIA that details all materials, dimensions, weight estimation and production methods
  • Two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional renderings of the proposed work in-situ
  • Preliminary budget, including material and production costs, as well as any specialized equipment or transportation

Site tours: April/May
Applications due: June 9
Notification: June 30
Project Installation: November/December
