CASTING CALL FOR ACTORS

The Nuyorican Poets Cafe's Poetic Heritage Festival will present readings of some of the classic Nuyorican theatre productions that were staged at the Cafe in past years. Rome Neal is directing the following plays in October and is seeking casts immediately:

(1) The 11 Audelco Award winning play, SHANGO DE IMA:

OSHUN

OBBA
YEMAYA

AGAYU SOLA
Also seeking chorus of dancers/vocalists

*** If you not familiar with these characters or the songs or movement of the Orishas, no need to audition..... Readings of Shango will take place on Oct 2, 3, 4th at 7pm.

(2) The 7 Audelco Award winning play, DON"T EXPLAIN..... A play based on life of LEE MORGAN

LEE MORRIS - Be Bop trumpet player (early 30s)
ELANA HAYES - 41 year old school teacher
CAMI - Piano player
COOKIE - Singer, Lee's friend
RED - Slugs jazz club owner
BILL - Drug dealer
ROSE - White chick
MANNY - Pawnshop owner

***Readings of Don't Explain will take place on Oct 8, 9, 15, 16 @ 7pm ***
