Elders Share The Arts, a non-profit community arts organization that
provides a range of living history arts programs to youth and elders
based on stories from life experience, is currently seeking Teaching
Artists who have extensive experience in dance, improv, theatre
movement, music or circus arts to facilitate various residencies
throughout the greater metropolitan area. All candidates should have
experience working with experience working with elders in the community
as a Teaching Artist.
The Ideal Candidate:
· Must be available to lead residency workshop starting in early 2012
until May or June 2012, meeting 1 day a week for 1 -1.5 hour sessions;
· Must have experience developing creative student & senior activities;
· Must be detailed oriented and energetic;
· Must be able to inspire children and/or seniors’ creative abilities
through the performing arts;
· Resume must reflect experience running a residency as a Teaching
Artist;
· Ability to speak in another language though not required is highly
desirable.
Responsibilities:
· Pre-workshop coordination and planning with staff and partners at
site location;
· Collaborate on structuring project content and facilitating weekly
workshops;
· Supply copies of weekly lesson plans to ESTA;
· Collaborate on writing and devising culmination piece;
· Coordinate with ESTA and site staff for final
presentation/exhibit/celebration;
· Notifying ESTA and site supervisors of any changes in schedule;
· Submit program progress report with invoice to ESTA;
· Attend ESTA professional development meetings when scheduled;
· Submit final report to ESTA.
