JOB OPPORTUNITY: Membership Associate, Theatre Communications Group (TCG)

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is seeking a full-time Membership Associate to provide administrative support for the Membership Department, which serves over 700 organizational members and 12,000 individual members. Membership is a core part of TCG’s work in supporting the growing network of theatres across the country with a broad range of TCG’s services. This includes growing their membership circle with emphasizing outreach to a broad spectrum of aesthetic and cultural viewpoints, organizational structure, budget sizes and missions.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for the American theatre, seeks a full- time Membership Associate to provide administrative support for the Membership Department, which serves over 700 organizational members and 12,000 individual members.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Interact with TCG members, book buyers, subscribers to American Theatre magazine and the ARTSEARCH job database, and serve as a liaison with the general public.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to web inquiries.
  • Process incoming orders for membership, subscriptions, magazine issue sales, book purchases, conference registrations, ad placements, invoice payments, annual gifts and other products/services as necessary.
  • Work with other members of the Membership team to increase member engagement, and to provide support for membership outreach efforts.
  • Assist with TCG Business Affiliate and Funder Affiliate memberships.
  • Manage relationships with partners providing discounts/benefits to TCG members.
  • Help maintain accuracy of TCG membership records.
  • Providing general department support and other duties as assigned.

What You Need for this Role:

The ideal candidate will have an administrative background, with 2+ years’ experience working in theatre and/or a service-oriented field. Superior communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as is the ability to work collaboratively and keep calm under pressure. Should be highly motivated and detail oriented, with strong organizational skills. Strong computer skills, including intermediate experience with all MS Office applications is required. An interest in theatre and a sense of humor is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting salary range for this position is between $38,000 and $40,000, with a comprehensive benefits package.
