JOB OPPORTUNITY: Rountable Coordinator, The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable

The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable is a service organization and a community of arts education practitioners that shares information, provides professional development, and communicates with the public to promote thier work in schools and beyond. The Roundtable produces a major annual conference, Face to Face; monthly professional development programs; a destination website; and other activities, in addition to ongoing advocacy and communications efforts.

The Roundtable Coordinator is a new part-time position (up to 20 hours a week) working out of their Manhattan office space near Union Square. The Roundtable Coordinator will support the Managing Director with the day-to-day management and administration of the Roundtable including maintaining the organization’s social media presence, coordinating events in conjunction with Roundtable committees, and overseeing the Roundtable’s membership and donor databases. The position requires a detail-oriented, enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for the arts and education as well as strong communication and social skills.

A successful candidate will be one who works effectively and efficiently, looking at tasks as learning opportunities.

Employment Classification: Permanent, Part-Time Reports to: Managing Director Schedule/Hours: Weekdays, up to 20 hours per week with a minimum of 15 hours spent in office. Occasional evenings and weekends. Start Date: February 1, 2019 Supervises: Event volunteers Salary: $15 per hour

Responsibilities of the Roundtable Coordinator include:

  • Support with day-to-day administration, accounting, and communications
  • Managing content and functionality of social networking tools
  • Coordinating production of programs and events, including the Roundtable’s major annual conference, Face to Face, as well as the Day of Learning
  • Support with all Roundtable programming including the need to be present at events outside of business hours and during Face to Face and the Day of Learning
  • Oversee daily maintenance of NeonCRM & PayPal
  • Make weekly pickup at Roundtable PO Box
  • Update NYC AiE Roundtable Chronology Report
  • Support with funding and grant prospects research
  • Support content maintenance and functionality of a Wordpress website
  • Answer Roundtable Membership inquiries
  • Performing other duties as reasonably instructed by the Managing Director

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated team player who works well with diverse groups of people
  • Demonstrated experience in social media preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Perfect position to gain experience in arts education & exposure to arts education leaders
  • Experience with MailChimp, Wordpress, G-Suite, PayPal, Quickbooks, and/or Neon prefered
  • Some flexibility for remote work, but must be able to devote at least 15 hours each week to in office work.
