AARON SISKIND - 2012 Individual Photographer's Fellowship - The Foundation's Individual Photographer's Fellowship program encourages and celebrates artistic achievement in contemporary photography by supporting the creative endeavors of artists working in photography and photo-based art media.

The Aaron Siskind Foundation is offering a limited number of individual photographer's fellowship grants of up to $10,000 each, for artists working in photography and photo-based art. Recipients will be determined by a panel of distinguished guest judges on the basis of artistic excellence, accomplishment to date, and the promise of future achievement in the medium in its widest sense.

The Foundation seeks to support artists/photographers who demonstrate a serious commitment to the field, who are professionally active or employed in the field.

THE ANDY WARHOL FOUNDATION FOR THE VISUAL ARTS - Grants are made on a project basis to curatorial programs at museums, artists' organizations, and other cultural institutions to originate innovative and scholarly presentations of contemporary visual arts. Projects may include exhibitions, catalogues, and other organizational activities directly related to these areas.

Full Proposal Deadline: March 1, 2012 for notification on July 1, 2012, and

ASIAN WOMEN GIVING CIRCLE - Grants will fund Asian American women-led projects that use the tools of culture, the arts and education to raise awareness and catalyze action around critical issues that impact Asian American communities. 4-6 grants will be awarded during this cycle, contingent on available funding. The maximum grant amount will be $15,000.

THE AWESOME FOUNDATION - The Awesome foundation for the Arts and Sciences is an ever-growing, worldwide network of people devoted to forwarding the interest of awesomeness in the universe. The foundation distributes a series of monthly $1,000 grants to projects and their creators. Projects have included efforts in a wide range of areas including technology, arts, social good, and beyond.

CREATIVE CAPITAL - Creative Capital is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing integrated financial and advisory support to artists pursuing adventurous projects to five disciplines: Emerging Fields, Film/Video, Literature, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. This year, Creative Capital will support approximately 23 projects in Performing Arts, 16 projects in Emerging Fields and 6 projects in Literature at initial levels of $10,000 each.

HARPO FOUNDATION - The foundation will consider proposals that directly support the production of new work by visual artists and/or collaborative teams who are under recognized by the field. This production may happen in the context of an installation, public intervention, residency, or exhibition.

JAPAN-US FRIENDSHIP COMMISSION - The Japan-US Friendship Commission is an independent federal agency that provides support for training and information to help prepare Americans to better meet the challenges and opportunities in the US-Japan relationship through grant programs for institutions in the following areas: Japanese studies in the US, public affairs & education, the study of the US in Japan, and the arts.

JEROME FOUNDATION - The Travel and Study Grant Program awards grants to emerging artists who create new work, rotating the eligible disciplines in alternating years. The eligible disciplines for 2012 are dance, film and video and literature, in including choreographers, film and video directors, poets, spoken word artists, fiction and creative nonfiction writers.

Travel must occur between June 1, 2012, and December 31, 2014.

JFNY GRANTS FOR ART & CULTURE - The Japan Foundation New York office (JFNY) accepts applications from nonprofit organizations from the 37 states east of Rocky Mountains for the JFNY Grant throughout the year. This grant aims to support projects that will further understanding of Japanese arts and culture. Successful projects may be granted up to $5,000. Priority will be given to those projects that have secured additional funding from sources other than the Japan Foundation.

Application must be received by JFNY at least 3 months prior to the beginning date of the project. JFNY will contact applicants regarding the result 2 months prior to the project starting date. Once an application is accepted, the applicant must submit a final report due one month after the completion of the project.

NYFA SOSStrategic Opportunity Stipends (S0S), a project of the New York Foundation for the Arts, working in collaboration with arts councils and cultural organizations across New York State, are designed to help individual artists of all disciplines take advantage of unique opportunities that will significantly benefit their career development. Literary, media, visual, music and performing artists may request support ranging from $200 to $1,500 for specific, forthcoming opportunities that are distinct from ongoing work.

Please note: there is a geographic restriction for SOS. It is only available to New York State artists excluding residents of the five boroughs of New York City.

PRINCESS GRACE FOUNDATION-USA Has announced the availability of applications for the 2012 Princess Grace Awards in theater, playwriting, dance performance, choreography, and film. Founded in 1982, the foundation identifies and assists emerging artists in theater, dance, and film, and has awarded more than $8.5 million to nearly six hundred individuals in the United States. Dance Performance Awards are offered in the form of scholarships and fellowships. Awards are based on the applicant's artistic merit, significance of the award to current artistic development, and the potential for future excellence and impact on the field. Choreography Awards offer emerging choreographers the opportunity to create a new work with organizations with which they have little experience.

THE POLLOCK-KRASNER FOUNDATION, INC - The Foundation's dual criteria for grants are recognizable artistic merit and demonstrable financial need, whether professional, personal or both. Throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors, and artists who work on paper, including printmakers are welcomed.

A ROOM OF HER OWN - GIFT OF FREEDOM - Grants will be awarded to deserving women on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis. The purpose of the grant is to assist the recipient in achieving a specific, qualifying literary or artistic objective: the production of a creative project as defined by the grantee. The 6th Gift of Freedom Award will be given to an American woman writer who is a U.S. citizen or legal resident and will be living in the U.S. during the grant period. A finalist from each genre (creative nonfiction, fiction, playwriting, and poetry) will be chosen.

TREMAINE FOUNDATION - The Emily Hall Tremaine Exhibition - Applications are accepted on a biennial basis from any curator, or curatorial team comprised of curators and/or artists, applying in partnership with a non-profit exhibition space, whether a traditional gallery or museum, or an alternative non-profit venue. Applicants are encouraged to think expansively and challenge conventional thought through the exploration of critical ideas in the context of contemporary art.
