Artist Café

Hey, do you want to apply together?

Want to make music for my dance piece?

Do you have any more questions about the festival?

Hi everyone,

We at a4 have opened up this café based on some feedback from one of our recent Locating the Sacred Information Sessions. While there's no real coffee here, we hope that this can be a space where you find creative collaborators for your Locating the Sacred applications.

Include the following in your post below, and start collaborating!

1) Contact info (name, email)

2) One or two lines describing the project that you are applying with

3) What type of collaboration are you seeking?

*Also, feel free to post/direct any questions related to the festival.

1) Contact info:
Priscilla Stadler, priscillastudio@gmail.com
Yoon Cho, yoon@yooncho.com

2) Our project:
Eight artists from different disciplines will consult the I-Ching to ask: "What is sacred?" Then create work in their own discipline - visual arts, theater, dance, music, writing, or philosophy. The final products will be an exhibition, performances, and a book.

3) A collaborator:
We are looking for a musician who would like to work with the I-Ching and other artists who are open to seeing what will emerge from our I-Ching readings and our imaginations!

After Priscilla and Yoon Cho's Town Hall pitch on Feb 7th, the dancer, Karen Kriegel and the musician Jeff Fairbanks joined our BOOK OF CHANGED project. Thanks everyone for your help with connecting us!

This is a question concerning the application for submissions. The question about 'artist's compensation' - does this refer to specifically artist's fees or does it refer to paying a lighting designer or stage manager for a theater piece for example? For a theater or a dance piece, should the applicant expect that these costs of production (lighting board operator, stage manager, etc) will be worked out between the artist and the venue or is the artist solely responsible? Thanks.

I am interested in the I-Ching project and may have a friend who would also like to get involved. Do you supply the I-Ching? Because I don't have one.

Thanks for your interest, Nicole. At this point we have our full slate of artists for the project.

No problem Priscilla, I hope you keep me in mind for few projects. BTW, I am trying to fund a trip to the Split This Rock Poetry Festival in March and I am looking for donations from willing individuals and organizations. Any donation amount would be helpful. Here is the campaign link:

Thanks in advance and please spread the word.
