Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC), a Tony Award-winning nonprofit theatre dedicated to producing a season of contemporary plays and musicals as broad and diverse as New York itself, invites individuals from historically underrepresented communities to apply for a full time Stage Management Fellowship for the 2018-19 season.

Founded in 1970, MTC has been the creative and artistic home for America’s most gifted theatrical artists, producing works of the highest quality by contemporary American and international playwrights. MTC produces eight plays annually in Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre and off-Broadway at the historic New York City Center complex.

The individual will help generate show-related paperwork and will work with the stage management team to track props, costumes, and scene changes. Additionally, the Fellow will gain experience in production management and working in a producing organization when not engaged in rehearsals or performances.

The ideal candidate belongs to an historically underrepresented community, and is an early-career professional who has previous stage management experience or has completed several production-centered internships at professional theatres. The individual will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize competing priorities.  A strong working knowledge of theatrical production procedures and practices and strong computer skills, especially proficiency with MS Office, are required.  Experience working in a union employment environment and familiarity with AEA agreements is a plus.  A Bachelor’s degree in Theatre or equivalent theatrical production experience is also required.
