- I am a composer of classical European music, and studied Bharatnatyam and Hindustani raga singing for ten years. I am committed to bringing some of the techniques of Karnatic and Hindustani classical music into European classical music. I write vocal music and operas, and use both Indian classical music techniques and melodies in my compositions.
- Your Creative Influences
- Aside from my training in European classical music composition, I owe much to my teacher in the music and dance of Bharatnatyam Ms. Swati Bhise, and my teacher of Hindustani classical raga singing Ms. Marina Ahmed Alam. I also am grateful to have more briefly studied Karnatic raga singing with Ms.Savitri Ramanand.
