In your own words, what is your ethnic identity? (for individuals)
Both my parents are immigrants to America, my mother is Filipina and my father is half Filipino and half French. When asked to check off a box I tend to mark Pacific Islander if that is an option. That said, in more nuanced conversation I feel it is important to distinguish that I am mixed while still identifying under the umbrella of Asian-American.
Your Artistic Background/Mission
I am a photo-based artist manipulating the medium to investigate curiosities of perception, play, and memory. My experiments often take form in alternative printing processes, sculpture, and installation (though she is always trying to pick up a new skill). I am also 1/3 of the artist-led initiative Memory Foam, which curates shows, publishes zines, produces events and an ongoing video series called "Artists Eat Ice Cream". I graduated in 2013 with a BFA from Pratt Institute and was an ARTHA Project resident during the class of 2016-2017.
