Your Artistic Background/Mission
A rising star in the Asian-American artistic community, BROWNSTAR has been described as “carrying on the legacy of the great storytellers across generations.” BROWNSTAR bursts forth from the pens of Pushkar “NORTHSTAR” Sharma and Sathya “SOUTHSTAR” Sridharan, who joined together in 2007. The duo has performed across the United States at a variety of venues including Joe's Pub (NYC), Da Poetry Lounge (LA), Literary Death Match (SF), Theatre off Jackson (Seattle), and the Cantab Lounge (Boston). BROWNSTAR ignites a conversation in the South Asian American community, giving a generation its voice and song.
