Hi Christina, I finally got a chance to read the discussions you have been opening on the A4 Hub--very interesting. I often feel that my "Chinese-ness" is so dependent on the context that I am in. It is very much like reader-response…

By the way, you don't need to go to Oxford to know Ernesto Sabato. He is a very popular author, and I am not really interested in any tribe. Just thought that you might have something to share... take much care of yourself in this wild, wild…

Since you have spent 15 years documenting/videoing (on your expenses) Tribes progress, how do you think you could contribute to the Asian American community with what you have learned, digested or experienced?

Perhaps the question is, do we need to create another new movement of like-minded people experiencing similar challenges? Or, we can look at the reality of today, when all activist efforts have already been done and bloomed in all different…

Nice, I like your mind because those are basically the people who have become my closest friends. The chameleons who can travel learn languages, be good artists, left the city of "corruption", and return to all the "racist…

Wow, it sounds real hard to be Asian American if we swim in the waters of labels and classifications. Perhaps, we can advocate a certain "Lost Art Form" from this "Lost" crowd of the other side. The "lost" people are…

Your Artistic Background/Mission
I graduated from the New York Studio School of Painting, Sculpture and Drawing in New York, and studied in the School of Visual Arts in New York, Hochschule Der Kunste in Berlin and the Slade Fine Arts School of the University College of London. I have exhibited in New York, Italy, South America and China.
My mission: to reach your heart and soul with my art.
Your Creative Influences
My creative influences come from a vast variety of sources. First, they come from my multi-cultural background as I have lived in many different countries in Asia, South America and Europe. My professional background is also diverse, as I have not only been an artist but also journalist, writer, poet, teacher and translator. My current interest is to find a universal way to reach people's heart and soul and I am much influenced by literature as well as spiritual writings of Hafiz, Lao Tse, Chuang-Tse, Carlos Castaneda, Federico Garcia Lorca, Paolo Coelho, Dostoevsky and many others.
My artistic influences include Mondrian and the whole De Stjl movement, Turner, the Constructivist school of the South, led by the Uruguayan artist Joaquin Torres-Garcia, Uccello, Traditional Chinese painting and all religious paintings.
I am also much influenced by music, architecture, theater and debates over social, political, health, crime and philosophical issues.
