Your Artistic Background/Mission
Cody Sai Adler-McAllister began his degree for Fine Arts at Pratt Institute, and was introduced through a family friend to internationally recognized Dutch designer Koos Van Den Akker, famous for his collage like patchwork in the late 80’s and 90’s. Cody apprenticed at Koos & co. for several years and then attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where he graduated with a degree in Fashion Design. While getting his education at the Fashion Institute he interned at several show rooms and independent design companies. He currently works at an agency that represents some of the top Photographers, Stylists, Hair and Make up Artists, including editors at Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair and numerous other publications.
Eager to get back into the creative side of fashion, he decided to launch his own clothing line in spring 2010. CODY SAI is a casual ready to wear line that has a classic simplicity with a bit of edge thrown in. He focuses on his pieces being wearable and comfortable while still being interesting.
After CODY SAI’s first collection he was featured along side famed Thai designer Thakoon in a 30 minute documentary for NHK World TV (BBC of Japan) as the next up-and-coming Asian designer coming out of New York City.
