Your Artistic Background/Mission
Faye Minli Lim is a native of Singapore and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. She continues to choreograph new dance works and perform with Benjamin Rasmussen / Ephemerui Dance Productions and Dana Salisbury & The No-See-Ums. Her work has been presented by Los Angeles Movement Arts, Solar One Dance Festival, Movement Research Open Performance, NYU and UCLA. She has had the pleasure of performing for such artists as Tina Croll, Carlos Cruz-Velazquez / colectivodoszeta, Patrycja Noworol / PNDC, Kristen Schifferdecker / Red Novae Movement Group, Tammy L. Wong Dance Co., and Cheng-Chieh Yu / Yu Dance Theatre.
Faye received an M.F.A. from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she was founder and chair of the annual Dance Across the Board Conference. The conference gathered graduate students from across the country to share their research and work on body-based performance. She holds a B.A. from the interdisciplinary World Arts & Cultures department at UCLA.
She teaches creative movement, improvisation, modern dance and hip hop to kids around the city, including the Manhattan Beach Best Choice School and BabyMoves. This summer will mark her second year guest teaching and performing at the DC Everest Dance Intensive in Schofield, Wisconsin, with Ephemerui Dance Productions. She is also on staff at the Asian American Youth Center, where she is developing a new dance program for kids and families in Chinatown.
