Looking for Interns for My Comic Book Publishing Company

I’ve just started up an independent comic book publishing company in Flushing, Queens, and I’m looking for motivated and responsible interns to help out with our upcoming Chinese-themed project.

We need assistance with:

Design & Web: updating our websites and social media, and laying out flyers and newsletters

Data entry: helping to organize our databases and email subscription system

Artwork: helping to scan and digitally prepare artwork (resizing, monitoring resolution, some cleanup, etc)

Miscellaneous administrative and office tasks

Skills Necessary: Experience with Mac OS X, Adobe Photoshop, HTML, Wordpress, Excel and Word.

The following are a plus, but not necessary:
Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
Ability to read and write fluent English and Mandarin
Own your own Mac laptop

Run by a team of award-winning filmmakers, cartoonists and web publishers, we’re now embarking on an ambitious multi-platform comic project.

Interns will benefit by participating in an entrepreneurial and fun environment, and exposure to the challenges of managing a project in a world where traditional distribution channels are in flux. Plus: the food around our studio is great!

The internship is from now till November 30, 2011.  Interns will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours a week (flexible), Monday to Friday.

The internship is unpaid, but if applicable, we will pay for subway/bus commuting costs.

Please submit your cover letter and c.v. to: info@dimsumwarriors.com

Art, Computer or Media Studies students are encouraged to apply.

We will contact all candidates we are interested in.
