Manifest.AR cyberartist group is delighted to be able to announce the artworks for the:
Venice Biennial 2011 Augmented Reality Intervention
Concept Manifesto
June 1st - November 27, 2011

As “one of the world’s most important forums for the dissemination and ‘illumination’ about the current developments in international art” the 54th Biennial of Venice could not justify its reputation without an uninvited Augmented Reality infiltration. In order to “challenge the conventions through which contemporary art is viewed” we will construct the virtual AR pavilions directly amongst the national pavilions in the Giardini. And be warned: virtual walls are insubstantial - some artworks have already spread to the Piazza San Marco and may take over all of Venice!
Artists: Sander Veenhof, Tamiko Thiel, John Craig Freeman, Lily and Honglei, Will Pappenheimer, Naoko Tosa, Mark Skwarek, John Cleater
