Japan Day is a day-long, family-friendly cultural celebration in Central Park. Last year, we had a total of 55,000 visitors! We'd like you to cover our event, so please see below for some of this year's event highlights or visit our website (http://www.japandaynyc.org/).
The event kicks off with the rousing Japan Run, a 4-mile race and Kids' Races, organized by New York Road Runners. The event continues with the Japan Day Festival featuring Japanese food (Okonomiyaki, Gyoza, Onigiri and more!), activities (Origami, Calligraphy and more!), and stage performances (Pop & Traditional Music, Dance, Karate, and more!), all of which are offered for FREE! The event will take place at Central Park, in the Bandshell area.
This year, we are thrilled to welcome Kana Uemura and Puffy AmiYumi, two exceptional musical acts who have been very prominent in the Japanese music scene. Puffy AmiYumi will be celebrating their 22nd debut anniversary at Japan Day!
