Between the Tides: Taiwan New Cinema

Taiwan New Cinema went down in the annals as a revolutionary movement, one that canonized the works of several auteurs and redefined Taiwan’s film culture. While the movement is often regarded as the fruit of a few cinematic wunderkinds, this online film festival sheds light on lesser-known filmmakers who too shaped the Taiwanese filmmaking landscape in the 1980s.
