Characters Disappearing: Expanded

February 16 – February 17, 2024
6 – 4PM

Later this year, Connor Sen Warnick is set to release his highly anticipated feature film Characters Disappearing, a meditation on mixed-race identity framed within New York City’s Asian American Movement in the 1970s. In celebration of the film’s impending release, Connor has curated a selection of films that, according to Connor, “share additional perspectives from a few people who were absolutely instrumental to the film’s production.”

“This program aims to gather a unique spread of work made by other members of the inner Characters Disappearing cast/crew/community to present an expanded space for discourse between the different artistic voices across the Asian diaspora that contributed to the making of the film.”

There will be a screening on Friday evening, which will include a panel discussion and an encore screening on Saturday afternoon.

The films include

Bacon and the Boys - Yuka Murakami
How to Boil Time - Lu Zhang
are the oranges sweet? - Bethany Yeap
Although the Wind - Christopher Makoto Yogi

And an exclusive taste of Characters Disappearing
