Fight Back Workshop: Secure Your Movement

Monday, February 20, 2017
6 – 8PM

The Asian American Writers’ Workshop will be hosting a security self defense training session led by Equality Labs. The session will teach you ways to secure your devices:

* Secure your phone and computer. * Secure your network access. * Secure your data. * Secure your communications. Equality Labs is a South Asian American Human Rights Start-up working at the intersection of story, art, and security. They support movements dealing with intractable systems of oppression through a collaborative model that connects multiple disciplines and platforms to maximize potential for change and engender workable, community driven solutions to the most pressing challenges we face. They are also the first South women, gender non conforming, and trans technology collective whose leadership is from South Asian Cultural and Religious Minority communities. This includes Dalits, Adivasis, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians. This is a POC centered training but all are welcome. You will need to bring your own phone/laptop. DEADLINE: Please RSVP by Monday, February 20th. If you have any questions, email Tracy Wong at twong@aaww.org. RESERVE A SEAT! Fight Back is an ongoing series to address resistance against fascism, white supremacy, and educational tools to remain vigilant.
