Mark De Garmo's "Dance for Dance" Gala Benefit

Mark De Garmo & Dancers will host a Gala Benefit evening at which famed actress Olympia Dukakis will present an “Educational Visionary” Lifetime Achievement Award to Judith Malina, actress and co-founder of The Living Theater. The legendary Malina is being honored for her lifelong contributions to the arts and education through the arts, which she continues at the age of 88. The evening will help Mark DeGarmo & Dancers continue their educational arts work in several NYC public schools, serving approx. 1,500 students, most of whom live below the federal poverty rate. Hosted by Nicky Paraiso, curator at La MaMa E.T.C., the evening will include hors d'oeuvres and drinks, a silent auction, a student performance, and dancing with a DJ.
