No previous knowledge of Okinawan Drum Dance is required. All beginner students are welcome.
Okinawa, the southernmost prefecture of Japan, is known as a mecca of folk dance and folk music and Junko Fisher, a New York based Okinawan dancer and folk singer, will teach an Okinawan popular folk dance called Eisa, which requires the use of a small hand held drum called “Paran-Ku.” Junko will invite students to perform Eisa to her spring events.
