Play + Placemaking for Afro-Asian Solidarity

Saturday, January 27, 2024
2 – 4PM

How can we design cities to build solidarity between Black and Asian communities? Join artists and urban planners Daphne Lundi and Louise Yeung for a placemaking workshop that taps into our sense of play and imagination by using found objects to envision spaces for Black and Asian futures. Lundi and Yeung will explore how places can be reimagined to foster Afro-Asian community building, while acknowledging historic tensions within our communities.

Lundi and Yeung welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds to join–no design or city planning experience is necessary! This event is supported by the Laundromat Project, as well as the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) and the Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) through the Bandung Residency.
