Rally in Solidarity with Silenced Chinese Writers

May 17 – May 27, 2015
6 – 7PM

Meet us on the steps of The New York Public Library, 5th Ave and 42nd Street

Take a stand for Free Expression in China and its aftermath. With Murong Xuecun, Bao Pu and Xiaolu Guo, Jonathan Franzen, A.M Homes, Paul Auster, Ha Jin, and Francine Prose.

Join us for a literary protest on the steps of the New York Public Library as we stand in solidarity with silenced Chinese writers. Help us, as we demand an end to China’s repressive censorship laws and the release of the 40+ writers jailed by China for their work. All are welcome and the event is free, but rsvps are requested at membership@pen.org. *Note that check-in for the protest will start at 5.30/45. We encourage you to arrive early to get a prime location on NYPL steps.
