The World in the City - Odissi - A Comparison of Two Styles with Mala Desai and Bani Ray

Mala Desai (Mayadhar Raut style) and Bani Ray (Deb Prasad Das style) will be performing their unique styles of Odissi. Through World in the City, Lotus brings a study of dance from around the globe right to our neighborhood. This event focuses on Odissi, the classical dance form of Orissa, the picturesque state located in the Eastern part of India. Our two dancers/instructors will highlight and demonstrate the subtleties of their two styles.
