Uptown Nights Convent to Wythe featuring yuniya edi kwon and SUN HAN GUILD

Friday, February 16, 2024
7:30 – 9:30PM
Harlem Stage, in partnership with National Sawdust, presents silver through the grass like nothing, an in-process solo by violinist, vocalist, poet, and interdisciplinary performance artist, yuniya edi kwon. It’s an emergent, impressionistic work shared from the perspective of the body, in dialogue with the spirit, as they experience the entangled and porous process of becoming a pearl. And the WORLD PREMIERE of even in the shadow of a retching fog by performance collective SUN HAN GUILD. It’s ritual for grief and an opening for generosity that connects the group’s ecstatic compositional collectivity to the continuum of sinawi, or the improvisational music that flows through Korean shamanic rites.
